Penske Racing Shocks UK is proud to be supplying the official VXR Drag Racing team with the new 7500 series in-line double adjustable coilover damper.
The 7500 double adjustable allows independent adjustment of compression and rebound forces allowing the team to fine tune their shock set up to chassis and track demands. The custom spec shocks have been hand built with specific piston/valving to suit the Red Victor 3 chassis. Penske Racing Shocks are CNC machined to meticulous tolerances to ensure consistent and repeatable performance and the all CNC machined aluminium configuration also brings the benefits of reduced unsprung mass.
The drag spec shocks from Penske Racing Shocks have been extensively developed in NHRA, Pro-Stock, Pro-Mod, ADRL and IHRA classes. The full piston range from Penske is available and the shocks are owner re-buildable and re-valveable allowing the end user to fine tune their shock’s performance to their chassis requirements.
Andy Frost, team principal of Red Victor 1 racing says” We are very happy to be working with a world renowned shock absorber manufacturer, who will bring a wealth of expertise in a very crucial area on the car. We thank Richard Scott and Penske Racing Shocks UK for their support and look forward to giving them some good data to work with”
Penske Racing Shocks UK looks forward to supporting and advising the Official VXR Drag Racing team to ensure they unlock the cars full potential through careful damper tuning. The damper plays a crucial role in controlling the dynamics of the chassis and how the tyre contacts the track and we will be working with Andy to help improve traction and control off the line with subsequent reductions in run times.

We are happy to announce that Hi spec motorsport are to become technical partners to the Official VXR drag race team in 2011. Team principal Andy Frost says" We are really pleased that Hi-Spec have joined the team for the 2011 season. We used Hi-Spec brake discs and calipers on RV2 with great success, particularly as we were able to stop a 1550kg car without a parachute from 200+mph! We're really happy to be using their new R126 6 pot caliper and new modular handbrake caliper on RV3. Having confidence with the braking system is paramount and we're more than happy to be using Hi-Spec for our braking needs once again" Geoff at Hispec says; "We are very happy to be involved once again with the highly professional Red Victor 1 racing Team
Following on from Red Victor 2's success over the last few years, we are glad to be given the opportunity to prove
and develop our braking systems on such a high performance vehicle.
Red Victor 3 will show just what Hispec Brakes are capable of "
We thank Hi-Spec for their foresight in choosing our team to display their products and look forward to working with them in regards to the braking system. You can visit their website at www.hispecmotorsport.co.uk or call Roy on 01322 286850 to discuss your requirements.

We are pleased to announce that Zircotec, the ceramic coating specialists will be a technical partner for the official VXR drag racing team in 2011.
Team principal Andy Frost says, “We have used Zircotec’s durable ceramic coating on Red Victor 2, our 2,200bhp car, with great success for a number of years. The exhaust manifolds and turbos on the car put out an amazing amount of heat yet, the Zircotec ceramic coating performed extremely well and never failed. We are very happy that they will be coating Red Victor 3’s whole exhaust and turbo housing in their ThermoHold ceramic material, particularly as there are some very delicate components around the exhaust area, which if not heat managed could get severely damaged.”
Peter Whyman, sales director of Zircotec adds, “We are pleased to be involved with the Red Victor 3 project. This car will deliver more than 3,000 bhp and will generate massive amounts of heat. This is the kind of application that a Zircotec heat resistant coating excels in. High performance engines require careful thermal management to perform at their optimum. Our coating will protect fuel and electrical systems from the effects of heat whilst also ensuring a performance advantage.”
Zircotec’s coatings are plasma sprayed offering a light, durable and effective thermal barrier that can reduce surface temperatures by over thirty percent. Used extensively in F1 and other motor sports, Zircotec’s coatings and flexible heat shield material ZircoFlex are also available to protect road and race performance and classic cars, helping to improve reliability, safety and performance through better heat management.
The team is very pleased to be associated with Zircotec and look forward to using their product with confidence.

The ‘sparks’ are really flying now, as we are proud to welcome Magnecor as our ignition lead supplier, along with their technical backup and advice to the team.
Team principal Andy Frost says "We used their excellent KV85 8.5mm Competition leads on RV2 and had no heat or reliability issues whatsoever. We are very happy that Magnecor are not only supplying their top cable, but are giving us technical support on the ignition aspects of the project.
One of the critical things with high boost, turbo methanol engines is spark ‘blowout’. With Magnecor involved the team, the job has become a lot easier."
Phil de Wit, managing director of Magnecor says " We are really excited to be working on the VXR/ Red Victor 3 project, as there is nothing like a challenge on the technical side and to having a ‘presence’, with such a professional outfit as Andy’s”.
The team are really looking forward to working with Phil and Magnecor in the upcoming 2011 MSA pro modified season. You can check out Magnecor’s product line at www.magnecor.co.uk
